About This Site

First let me say that I really appreciate all of you that are using the site so far. I also want to encourage you to use the My Collection feature, its a great way to keep track of coin values and which of each coin type, you might still need to get. with that said, I wanted to let current and new users of this service know why I built extracoins.com as a free classifieds site. Ebay.com in a simple one word expression. I started using Ebay.com three years ago and not unlike most of my current users, got really tired of selling items at a near loss. Over the past year Ebay has decided to allow for unattended bidding on items using third party software. As the number of people using this software increased, I saw a dramatic deline in profits.

I started looking for alternative sites to sell my coins on to no avail. Not that there arn't several other places to sell coins just that those sites really don't have the traffic needed to generate a good profit for my coins. So after some debate with myself I decided to build this site. I have been building data driven web sites for over 10 years and knew that I could develope and decent site that would suit my purposes. I do however have a full time job that keeps me prety busy. Anyway I have building this site in my free time on weekends and such for about 6 months now, and have tried to build it so that anyone one with an email address can use it safely. I have decided to keep it free for all users, Buyers and sellers, there are no fees. I will expand on this later i just wanted to get this up.
